Both teams were strong on the mound on Saturday, but Shoreline was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over DC Royals on Saturday. Jessica Fasolino started the game for DC Royals and recorded 21 outs.
DC Royals evened things up at one in the bottom of the third inning when Janessa Hanson singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
Shoreline pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth Kacey Hvitved hit a solo homer.
Fasolino took the loss for DC Royals. She went seven innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out nine and walking one.
Hanson, Kimberly Anderson, Casey Gareau, McKinlee Kaulbach, and Rachel Warburton all had one hit to lead DC Royals. DC Royals was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Kaulbach had the most chances in the field with ten.
