Douglas College Named CCAA Top Ten Athletics Program of Past 50 Years
The Canadian Collegiate Athletics Association (CCAA) celebrated their 50th Anniversary at the 2024 CCAA Hall of Fame Banquet on June 11, 2024. The gala event recognized the exceptional achievements of the 98 member institutions in each sport-specific CCAA National Championships.
The Douglas College Royals were recognized as one of the Top Ten schools of the past 50 years in four sports: Badminton (1), Men's Soccer (7), Men's Basketball (8), and Curling (10). However, most notably, the Royals received the nod as a Top Ten (8) Athletics program across all sports within the Overall Sport Supremacy category.
"I would like to take the opportunity to thank the CCAA for the recognition," said Brian McLennon, Director of Athletics & Recreation at Douglas College. "National Championships have played an invaluable role in enriching the academic experience for thousands of student-athletes over the past 50 years. Thank you to all the Royals' staff, coaches, administrators, and the thousands of student-athletes that contributed to this achievement for Douglas College."
