Douglas College Royals Celebrate National Coach's Week
The Douglas College Royals would like to thank all our coaches for the invaluable impact they have on our program. They have a tremendous positive impact on all our student-athletes and their families and provide invaluable leadership to their teams.
Men's Basketball head coach Matt McKay at the Canada Summer Games
Here are some highlight achievements of some of our coaches outside of their work with the Douglas College Royals this past summer:
Head coach Steve Beauchamp of the women's basketball team won the over-60 men's world basketball championship in Switzerland, defeating Serbia 67-63 in the gold medal game.
Matt McKay, head coach of our men's basketball program, won a bronze medal with Team BC at the Canada Summer Games in St. John's, Newfoundland.
Cavanagh Whitely, an assistant coach with the Baseball team, was also at the Canada Summer Games and claimed a gold medal with Team BC in basketball.
And finally, Jeff Ross, head coach of the women's volleyball team and interim coach of the men's volleyball team, was the assistant coach of the U21 Women's Volleyball team at the Pan Am Games representing Team Canada.
Thank you to all our coaches for all you do!
