Royals At The Break: Men's Basketball Has Plenty of Positives for New Year
The Royals Men's Basketball Team can point to a number of things to build off of once the calendar turns to 2026. The team currently sits one game back of a playoff spot.
Douglas is third in points against in the PACWEST with 961, showing a commitment to defence that can carry them in the second half of the season. Newcomer Derrick Monroe is 6th in the PACWEST in scoring with 16.8 points per game, while Efe Ilicia is second in rebounding with 7.9 per game. First-year guard Olan Smith is third in steals per game.
The team's first PACWEST game is Friday, January 9th at home against the Langara Falcons. The PACWEST Championships will be March 5th to 7th at Camosun College. Check out all the photos from the first half of the season here.
